Solutions deliver enhanced content, business process and compliance management capabilities

FileNet Corporation (Nasdaq: FILE), the leading provider of Enterprise Content and Business Process Management solutions, has recently launched its new products--the FileNet Connector for Microsoft SharePoint Document Libraries, FileNet Connector for Microsoft SharePoint Portal Search and the FileNet Connector for Microsoft SharePoint Web Parts.

FileNet has introduced broad support for Microsoft SharePoint Technologies with these three new connectors that extend Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services and Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2003 to provide end-to-end ECM capabilities across heterogeneous enterprises.

Martyn Christian, Chief Marketing Officer, FileNet said: "FileNet P8 and Microsoft SharePoint Technologies are complementary solutions that, when used together, create an easy-to-use, end-to-end ECM infrastructure to actively manage content, ensure compliance and streamline process across the enterprise."

"FileNet's integration with Microsoft SharePoint Products and Technologies enables organisations to take advantage of the best attributes of both solutions. With the investments we are making in ECM in Microsoft Share Point Technologies, FileNet's customers will be able to realise even more value from their SharePoint-based deployments," said Jeff Teper, General Manager, SharePoint Products and Technologies, Microsoft Corp.

"The availability of new products for use with Microsoft SharePoint Products and Technologies will allow our mutual customers to build end-to-end solutions based on Microsoft and FileNet technology, while leveraging the recent investments Microsoft has made in search, content management, workflow and business intelligence with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007," said Wim Dierickx, SharePoint Product & Solution Manager, Microsoft EMEA.

The FileNet Connector for Microsoft SharePoint Document Libraries allows Microsoft SharePoint document libraries to be integrated with the FileNet P8 ECM repository, ensuring accessibility of content to the entire enterprise and its manageability to meet key enterprise business and IT requirements, including lifecycle, security and compliance management. Enterprises can have full control and content transfer can even be triggered automatically, based on defined document metadata. Content can also be replicated, moved or copied based on configurable properties, and behaviour can be specific to an individual SharePoint site.

The FileNet Connector for Microsoft SharePoint Portal Search extends the search capability of SharePoint Portal Server 2003 to include any content that is federated to FileNet P8 ECM services. End users can then execute a search and display a list of documents from FileNet P8, including content from any third-party vendors under FileNet Content Federation Services management, with all the functionality available to documents stored natively in Windows SharePoint Services. Users will also be enabled to access only authorised documents in compliance with FileNet P8 enterprise security rules.

The FileNet Connector for Microsoft SharePoint Web Parts delivers document and task management capabilities that align with JSR 168 portlet capabilities. It also allows FileNet managed, enterprise-wide BPM process flows to be extended to the SharePoint environment.
