Saudi German Hospital (SGH) in Riyadh, a multi-speciality tertiary care hospital part of the Saudi German Health Group, hosted its first ever Open House Doctor’s Day for all physicians in the city of Riyadh. The event, which took place in the hospital’s auditorium, included a workshop on health insurance, networking sessions, a tour of the new medical tower and recruitment opportunities.

Speeches and presentations were delivered in the auditorium by the Group’s management including Dr. Ahmed Shebl, Group CEO and Makarem Sobhi Batterjee, President and Vice Chairman of Saudi German Health, who delivered a powerful and motivational presentation regarding the group’s transformation and its ambitious future.

During the event, SGH highlighted its transformation journey in the past few year, which included its expansion in Riyadh, and its newest facilities such as new hospitals in Makkah, and Jeddah (Al Jamea District), its newest clinics building in Abha and the new medical tower in Riyadh. The event also served as a dynamic platform for SGH to showcase the latest IT systems and advanced medical equipment it has deployed to provide best-in-class service for patients.   

The event included a tour of the new medical tower, which aims expand its services in a modern and comfortable environment. The new tower was designed and built through a collaboration with Mayo Clinic, the number one hospital in the world. Through this collaboration the hospital was built with the latest and most advanced best practices in hospital infrastructure and medical management. The state-of-the-art-facility, which is located adjacent to the main hospital building, includes a world-class emergency room and multiple outpatient clinics, high-tech radiology and lab departments. Thanks to its expansion, the 300 bed hospital has now expanded to have over 150 clinics in multiple specialties including obstetrics and gynecology, cardiac science and neuroscience amongst many others.

Doctor's Day provides an opportunity to appreciate the tireless efforts the medical practitioners to take care of patients, save lives, and promote public health. It also provides an opportunity to raise awareness on the significance of healthcare services and the need for more investment in healthcare infrastructure and personnel.
