Abu Dhabi, UAE: The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) has shared details of exciting Eid experiences across the city. With two days of Eid Al Fitr public holiday, family and friends can celebrate with a series of authentic activations steeped in culture, pop-up musical performances and star-studded concerts and awe-inspiring family entertainment across Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra.

CROWD-PLEASING CONCERTS

Al Ain 

22nd April, Al Ain Convention Centre

Exploring the depth of regional music and its role in Arab culture, Arabic Music Duo Fouad Abdul Wahed and Lebanese hitmaker Yara will entertain audiences at Al Ain Convention Centre on the 22nd of April. Yara, who won the music talent competition “Kass el-Nojoum,” broadcast on LBC, will open proceedings with some of her best-loved tracks before Abdul Wahed mesmerises audiences with tracks including ‘Ala Halah’ and ‘Emdhi.’ Ticket prices start at AED 150 for Premium and AED 100 for General Admission. 

Al Dhafra 

22nd April, Madina Zayed Wedding Hall

Hamad Al Ameri will take the stage at Madina Zayed Wedding Hall to mark Eid with a Concert in Al Dhafra, entertaining audiences with some of his most popular hits, including ‘Elmohrah’, ‘Kelkalh’ and ‘La Teheb’. Tickets start at AED 100 for Premium and AED 50 for General Admission.

Traditional Performances and Shafya Al Eid

First and Second Days of Eid, 3pm - 7pm

Families and children can enjoy traditional performances of Al Ayyala and Al-Razfa at Al Ain cultural sites such as Al Ain Palace Museum, Al Ain Oasis and Qasr Al Muwaiji, as they witness these amazing Emirati performances and pick up Eid giveaways at these locations.

Eid Studio at Al Qattara Arts Centre

First and Second Days of Eid, 5pm - 10pm

Al Qattara Arts Centre, in collaboration with Creative Space, is inviting guests to celebrate Eid Al Fitr at the Centre by capturing beautiful moments with families and friends.

Eid Activities at Abu Dhabi Children’s Library

21 to 23 April, (4-9pm on the first day of Eid; 9am - 8pm onwards)

In celebration of Eid Al Fitr, children can enjoy a variety of interactive programmes and activities, including an Arabic puppet show on Saturday 22 April, at Abu Dhabi Children’s Library at Cultural Foundation.

Eid Al Fitr at Al Hosn

21 to 22 April, 4pm - 9pm

Qasr Al Hosn will host traditional performances, as well as demonstrations of crafts and heritage practices including falconry. There will be special Eid giveaways (Ediya) for visitors, who can also head to House of Artisans to enjoy the Henna corner and a series of workshops for all ages.

Eid at MAS

21 to 23 April, 10am - 10pm

Enjoy a variety of exhibitions and activities at Manarat Al Saadiyat, from the ‘I View’ video installation by Videocity and the ‘Zuhoor’ photography installation and booths, to ‘The Shot Photography Through Time’ Exhibition, in addition to our Atrium Majlis with all the boardgames and our Art Studio drop in sessions.

Drums at Louvre Abu Dhabi

22 April, 12pm - 6pm

The Louvre Abu Dhabi will host an evening of dramatic drum performances, encapsulating the ancient art of communication, expression and unity, seen throughout history from tribes worldwide using the traditional drum as a foundation for their identity. From African to Khaleeji dance, Breakin and Streetdance, the live performance will show the music and dance connection between continents, cultures and generations using the beautiful architecture of the Louvre as the stage.

AWE-INSPIRING ACTIVATIONS

Fontana Circus Show

18 to 20 April, special Eid show 9pm - 11pm. 21 to 23 April, three shows 4pm - 9:30pm

For the first time in the Middle East, Hat Entertainment and in partnership with Marina Mall Abu Dhabi introduces the travelling water circus, Fontana, which will be hitting Abu Dhabi for the second stage of their UAE tour. As part of an intricate combination of choreography, art, and technology, Fontana will perform in a tailor-made, state-of-the-art aquatic theater inside a custom-designed circus tent. Fontana will host several shows during Eid, with additional shows in the coming months.

Action and adrenaline at Al Qana’s Adrenark Adventure

Opening Eid al Fitr, Saturday to Wednesday 10am - 10pm and Thursday to Friday 10am to midnight

The region’s largest indoor adventure park will open this Eid Al Fitr at Al Qana Walk, inviting friends and families to enjoy over 20 adrenaline-inducing activities, including climbing walls, rope courses, thrill rides, stunt bag jumps, roller gliders, bungee trampolines and the main attraction, the e-karting track that spans three floors, where you’ll be able to race your friends across multiple levels.

The Galleria Al Maryah Island

22 - 23 April

Popular Emirati show, Freej will appear at Maryah Island's shopping destination, The Galleria, this Eid with exciting meet and greet sessions with the one and only Um Khamas and Um Saeed's grandchild, Abood, at The Galleria's Central Kitchens. Elsewhere in the mall, families can find an Eid-themed play area and a host of educational and fun children's activities, including puzzles and board games, arts and crafts, henna and face painting, video games, dancing activities and more. 

Yas Mall

21 - 22 April

Yas Mall, the largest mall on Yas Island, is currently running its exciting Eidiya Spend & Win campaign until the first day of Eid. Continuing the celebrations, on weekends, shoppers will have a lucky chance to have their shopping sponsored as a token of Eidiya by Yas Mall. Visitors can marvel at traditional Ayala performances elsewhere in the mall, with six performances daily during the Eid Al Fitr festivities.

Sales Across the City

This Eid, residents and visitors can make the most of world-class shopping destinations on their doorstep, with most of the city's malls hosting sales of up to 90% in the last week of Ramadan and throughout Eid.
