Customers can now listen to their email being read, and navigate their accounts using voice commands
Abu Dhabi - Emirates Telecommunications Corporation- Etisalat- has announced the launch of a new service that will enhance the convenience of communicating on the move. Using the Email Reader service, customers can listen to their emails being read out by the system, can send new emails as voice attachments, and can access all features of their email service through voice commands over their mobile phone. Both prepaid and postpaid mobile users can sign up to this service, and it does not require a special mobile phone or Internet connection.
Mohammed Al Fahim, Executive Vice President- Marketing, Etisalat, said: "This seemingly futuristic service is Etisalat's way of bringing the future to its customers now. This service is one of the most convenient ways of staying in touch when on the move, and we expect the business community to especially benefit from the features offered."
Customers who wish to register for the service can do so by simply typing r emr in the message field and sending it to 1010, following which a confirmation SMS will be sent to the mobile phone. The customer then logs on to www.e4me.ae to set up profile details such as PIN number, email accounts and address books. Charges include a one-time registration fee of AED 30 and usage charges of AED 0.60 per minute.
Once the setup is complete, the customer can simply dial 150 from their mobile phone to access their email accounts. A maximum of four email accounts can be added to a profile, including Emirates Mail, Yahoo, Hotmail, MSN or AOL. This service is provided in association with M/s. Emerging Technologies.
