Etihad Airways has introduced a new flight-checker service to allow air travellers, friends and families to monitor aircraft arrivals and departure times.

Flight-checker is accessed via the Etihad website, www.etihadairways.com, by simply entering the relevant flight number or the flight's departure or arrival destination and they can view the aircraft's status.

People in the UAE can also contact Etihad Airways' freephone call centre on 8002277 to hear automated flight information for the previous four hours and flights which are scheduled to arrive or depart during the following 20 hours.

Peter Baumgartner, Etihad Airways' executive vice president marketing and product, said: "As Etihad continues to expand its network of global destinations it is vital that our customers can quickly access flight details and real-time information, whether using the Etihad website or telephone."

Online customers can also check arrival and departure times for all Etihad flights into and out of Abu Dhabi, during the previous 30 minutes and for the next 60 minutes, without having to provide a specific flight number.

Furthermore, Etihad continues to boost customer services abroad following the launch of dedicated toll-free call centre services in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Canada and the USA.
