The multi award-winning Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer is making its Middle East debut in the UAE at The Big 5. It's not just fast, but hygienic and efficient too - using far less energy than warm air hand dryers.

James Dyson said:

"Instead of painfully slow evaporation, the Airblade™ hand dryer creates a high speed sheet of air, which literally scrapes water from hands in 10 seconds.  It's very quick and it's very clean."

Speed:

Warm air hand dryers use warm air to evaporate moisture.  This takes too long and most people give up waiting and either wipe damp hands on clothes or leave with wet hands.

The Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer uses a 400mph sheet of unheated air to scrape water from hands like a windscreen wiper in 10 seconds. This filtered air is channeled through a 0.3 millimetre gap, no thicker than an eyelash.

Hygiene:

The Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer is the first and only hand dryer to meet NSF Protocol 335 for a hygienic hand drying system.  The machine is also certified by the British Skin Foundation and the Royal Institute of Public Health.

Warm air hand dryers use 60 year old technology that relies on evaporation to dry hands. Washroom air, which contains germs and is laden with bacteria, is heated up and blown onto people's shoes, clothes and... freshly washed hands.

The Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer passes washroom air through a HEPA filter to remove over 99.9% of bacteria from the air before it's blown onto hands.

The Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer has undergone extensive biological and scientific testing by Dyson's in-house microbiologists, as well as research conducted by Leeds University and Bradford University.

Dyson's skincare research is also validated by the British Skin Foundation and the Royal Society of Public Health has given the Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer its first hygiene accreditation.

Energy and cost of ownership:

The Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer is powered by the long-life, revolutionary Dyson digital motor and uses far less energy than warm air hand dryers. It also offers significant running cost savings over warm air hand dryers and paper towels.

The Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer is also the first hand dryer to be awarded the Carbon Reduction Label from the Carbon Trust. To get this, the Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer measured the total carbon footprint - the amount of carbon emissions (CO2 and other greenhouse gases) produced from its materials and manufacture, transport, in-use and end of life.

The Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer has been installed in well-known locations such as the Eiffel Tower, the London Eye, and Los Angeles International Airport. In Dubai, the machine hygienically dries hands at the Sanctuary Discotheque in the Atlantis - The Palm hotel and the Le Meridian Hotel near the international airport.
