With the aim to motivate young entrepreneurs in starting new ventures
October 28, 2010, Dubai, UAE -- Dubai Women's College(DWC), a Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) flagship institution, recently hosted a presentation designed to motivate young entrepreneurs in starting new ventures. The presentation entitled 'Release the Hidden Entrepreneur in You - Lift-off to Success' was attended by over 100 students, faculty, and local entrepreneurs, with Carole Spiers, Entrepreneur and International Motivational Speaker, delivering the workshop.
The presentation was part of a Speaker Series sponsored by The Entrepreneurship Center at Dubai Women's College (TEC@DWC), an organization focused on promoting entrepreneurship and supporting the local businesses that contribute to the UAE economy. TEC@DWC provides memberships and a host of services to UAE Nationals interested in starting or growing a locally operated business.
Dr. Howard Reed, Director of Dubai Women's College said, "The events sponsored by TEC@DWC are a true demonstration of its commitment to developing Emirati entrepreneurship and contributing to the local economy."
The presentation highlighted what Ms. Spiers' suggests to be her 7 principles for entrepreneurial success which include: self-confidence, goal setting, and a positive attitude. Ms. Spiers revealed a number of practical and proven solutions for starting an entrepreneurial venture, and reinforced her claim that by employing her advice, young entrepreneurs can turn their passions into profit.
"The most important thing is to love what you do," said Ms. Spiers, while commenting on how to create a successful business. Ms. Spiers went on to highlight the importance of having focus, tenacity, dedication, and being innovative.
Nao Valentino, Manager of TEC@DWC said, "It is important for young people to hear from motivational speakers who can encourage them to try entrepreneurship as a possible career path. In the near future, we will rely on these entrepreneurs to supply our economy with the innovation necessary for development, and to build the economic engines that drive growth in employment and wealth creation. Speakers like Carole provide young people with the motivation, tools, and confidence needed to become entrepreneurs," she concluded.
