$600 Million of Business Deals Achieved during the Exhibition
Dubai - United Arab Emirates, March 31st 2012: The Twelfth edition of the Dubai World Dermatology and Laser Conference and Exhibition (Dubai DERMA) concluded Thursday evening at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre with more than 5000 visitors and participants registered for the duration of the conference. More than 230 companies presented their latest products, machines and latest techniques in laser, anti aging and skin care during the exhibition.
On the sidelines of the conference, the GCC and Arab Dermatology league have met with the president of the World Dermatology Congress, Jerry Shapiro, and they agreed to nominate Dubai to host the World Dermatology Congress in 2019. The WDC is organized every four years, and it will be held in Vancouver - Canada in 2015.
Dr. Ibrahim Galadari, Professor of Dermatology at the UAE University and Chairman of the Dubai Derma Conference displayed the facilities and infrastructure that Dubai enjoys and can provide for hosting this tremendous event. Dr. Jerry Shapiro provided huge support on this matter after visiting Dubai to attend the 12th edition of Dubai DERMA.
Moreover, Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, the Executive Chairman of the Dubai DERMA and President of INDEX Holding said, "soon we will submit the request to the international association for Dermatology and we will start immediately with all the needful preparations after the final voting takes place. We are very proud of this nomination as it is the first time in the history of the WDC to be held in a Middle Eastern City. The congress will host more than 25,000 Dermatologist and skin care specialists".
Dr. Al Madani also mentioned that Dubai is now an international hub for advanced scientific programs and an international platform for the latest and most advanced technical machines. Dubai is also well known for its prestigious human resources and infrastructures and facilities to accommodate such an event".
The scientific committee had also met on Thursday and gave their gratitude to Dr. Ibrahim Galadari for his continuous support for this conference, and also announced the Dubai DERMA conference recommendations for this year and among them were:
1. Emphasizing again the censorship imposed on the use of cosmetics, laser, fillers and botox and make sure to avoid medical errors that can occur during wrong prescriptions.
2. Organize more workshops for dermatologists throughout the year where they can gain more knowledge.
3. Encourage the knowledge exchange and sharing of researches between doctors and scientists so they can learn from each other.
4. Restrictions of applied fees that was issued by the official Health Authorities and Medical Associations.
The organizing committee announced that Dubai DERMA this year has been larger than ever and the amount of business deals achieved reached more than $600 million.
