Celebrations to Take Place Across the Emirates
Dubai: 28 November, 2007 - In partnership with the UAE's Ministry of Culture, Dubai Holding will mark the nation's 36th National Day celebrations with a spectacular cultural extravaganza across the emirates.
Community events in Dubai will be held on 2 and 3 December at the Dubai Creek Park amphitheatre. Themed 'Local Day', the opening programme in Dubai will kick off at 5:00 pm with performances of UAE traditional and military bands, adding flavour to the local component of the evening. An electrifying act of three famous local singers - Hussain Al Jasmy, Abdulmunim Al Amri and Fayez Al Saeed - will follow to serve as the highlight of the first day.
Fadel Al Ali, Dubai Holding Executive Chairman Operations, said: "The celebration is part of Dubai Holding's commitment to create a cultural experience that reflects the essence of the nation's profound history and effectively portrays the culture and traditions of the UAE.

Day two of the cultural carnival will reflect the concept of 'International Day', and include performances by three international bands from India, the Philippines and Syria to represent the multicultural social fabric of the UAE.
The Bayanihan Philippine National Dance Company will showcase the Philippines captivating folk dances with overtones of Chinese, Spanish and Islamic traditions. The Mumbai Asterix group from India will offer a choreographed song and music routine, while the Ornina Dance Band from Syria will present an ensemble of folklore music.
Celebrations in the other emirates will also include performances of traditional bands as well as Military bands and theatre productions by local drama groups.
