Dubai, UAE - According to Markettiers 4DC’s latest podcasting reports in the UAE, listenership in the country is booming, with over 76% of the population now aware of the term “podcasting” - 2 in 3 podcasts being in English.
In her efforts to highlight individuals' in depth struggles and triumphs in Dubai via the power of audio, Dubai-based psychologist and founder of BE Psychology Center, Reem Shaheen has launched her very own podcast, KUN: The Journey To BE.
Reem Shaheen is a licensed U.S.trained Counseling Psychologist who’s worked in the field for 12 years across three countries. In this podcast, her purpose is to help us collectively think and challenge some of our cultural norms and experiences. It will also inspire listeners to embrace themselves as human beings navigating life on their own unique journeys while becoming more connected towards others.
This is the first time in the MENA Region where a mental health professional collaborated with a media company to help bring more awareness on mental health through the medium of podcasting.
Through an agreement with EMPWR’s Podcasting Network led by Ally Salama, which focuses on building top-tier educational podcasts for key opinion leaders in the Arab World and North America, the podcast will become the amongst the first in-house production by EMPWR in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Region - Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman.
Reem’s podcast will be airing weekly, starting June 25th, 2021, on Fridays at 9pm UAE time, bringing about a new story every new episode tackling different topics around our culture’s mental health.
