Dubai: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has launched the 5th batch of the Frontiers Leadership Development Programme, in collaboration with the Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG). 30 employees at DEWA will undergo one-year training, including online workshops, seminars, educational programmes in several areas, as well as a development guidance programme.

“DEWA adopts an integrated strategy to prepare Emiratis to lead the energy and water sectors. This enables them to be the next generation of experts and leaders in Research & Development, anticipating the future, keeping pace with the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and making use of disruptive technologies. DEWA is committed to achieving the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to prepare Emiratis to keep pace with rapid change, as well as challenges and global opportunities. We strive to develop and train our Emirati staff according to the highest international standards. This familiarises them with the latest developments and technologies in their areas of work, in addition to providing quality jobs that benefit the nation. This also achieves the UAE Centennial 2071 to make the UAE the world’s leading nation,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.

“DEWA is proud to collaborate with MBRSG and different national organisations to achieve its strategy, to train and qualify Emirati calibre to hold different positions. This enhances the fourth generation of the government excellence system, which is a significant development in government work. Since the launch of the programme in 2007, a total of 102 participants have graduated. DEWA will continue its efforts to strengthen the skills of its staff and to develop their knowledge in several areas, chiefly leadership and excellence,” said Al Tayer.

This supports the vision of the wise leadership to develop government work and improve capabilities to provide practical solutions for different current and future challenges. We aspire to prepare a new generation of leaders and inventors in all areas,” said HE Dr. Ali Sebaa AlMarri, the Executive President of MBRSG.
