Dell Precision M90 and Dell Precision M65 Deliver Exceptional Performance with Notebook Mobility

Dubai, UAE, 5th April 2006 --  Dell has unveiled two next-generation mobile workstations, the Dell Precision M90 and Dell Precision M65 that deliver new levels of performance and features in a mobile platform. The Dell Precision M90 and Dell Precision M65 are both available now in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

The Dell Precision M90 and Dell Precision M65 enable engineers, artists, developers and other professionals to take their specialist and often memory-intensive computing applications everywhere without compromise.

With up to 512MB high-performance OpenGL graphics, Intel Core Duo processors, up to 17 inch wide-aspect displays and certification on some of the workstation industry's most intensive applications, the new Dell Precision systems deliver the latest workstation design and performance. Extensive security and mobile options like Wi-Fi and mobile broadband give workstation users the freedom to deliver exceptional engineering design, analysis and content creation anytime, anywhere.

"This generation of mobile workstations reaffirms Dell's leadership in workstation design, reliability and performance and represents the combined efforts of Dell and its customers to develop best-in-class products," said Eric Greffier, Director of Corporate Client Products, Dell EMEA.  "From the Dell Precision M90 with its 17-inch display and unprecedented graphics capabilities, to the mobility of the Dell Precision M65, Dell has enabled workstation users to be more productive than ever without sacrificing performance."

The Powerful Dell Precision M90

The Dell Precision M90 is designed to deliver the highest workstation performance available in a mobile platform, giving many customers the freedom to replace their desktop workstations without sacrificing performance.  Dual processor cores enable efficient parallel processing when running multi-threaded applications and efficient operation of multiple applications concurrently.

Graphic artists, animators and high-end CAD users can confidently power up the most demanding applications, in more places than ever and remain productive through features such as:

OpenGL graphics with up to 512MB dedicated graphics memory

2MB L2 cache and a fast 667MHz front side bus

Up to 4GB1 of high speed DDR2 memory

667MHz memory interface to speed the transfer of data

Bright displays up to WUXGA (1920 X 1200) resolution

On-board IEEE 1394, three-button touch pad, DVI and SVGA video outputs

Integrated smartcard reader and TPM 1.2 support

Dell Precision M65 - True Mobility for Mobile Workstations

Weighing from 6.2 pounds / 2.8 kg, the Dell Precision M65 delivers the perfect balance of workstation performance and mobility. The latest Intel dual-core processors, a 15.4-inch wide-aspect display, optional embedded mobile broadband capability and biometric fingerprint reader for enhanced security gives customers a certified, powerful and secure mobile workstation that is designed to travel.

The Dell Precision M65 delivers powerful performance for complex applications, such as digital content creation and financial analysis. Features include:

2MB L2 cache and a fast 667MHz front side bus

 Up to 4GB1 of high-speed DDR2 memory

667MHz memory interface to speed the transfer of data

Up to 512MB shared2 graphics memory with NVIDIA Quadro FX 350M Turbocache

128-bit graphics pipeline and 128-bit graphics memory interface

Integrated smartcard reader and TPM 1.2 support

Optional dual batteries for extended battery life

Since durability and reliability are key concerns for workstation users, both new models feature a solid magnesium alloy casing, and the display bezel design helps minimise screen marking. Sealed spill resistant keyboards, full-time hard drive protection with StrikeZone, and steel reinforced security slots are included standard on all models. Adhering to Dell's Design for the Environment programme, both systems meet the requirements of the European Union's Restriction of Hazardous Substances directive.

The Dell Precision M90 and Dell Precision M65, certified on the workstation industry's most complex CAD, CAE, DCC, GIS and other applications including Pro/Engineer, Unigraphics, Catia, Maya and Softimage are available today worldwide.
