Company launches 'Bruserstang' gypsum ceiling tiles as demand for gypsum products rises by 10 fold in the last two years

Danube Building Materials FZCO, the leading player in the construction, interior decoration and shop fitting industry, has announced that it has invested AED 50 million in a new Ceiling Manufacturing facility located in the Sharjah Industrial Area I. In line with the announcement, Danube also revealed its plans to launch a new range of gypsum ceiling tiles and accessories under the brand name 'Bruserstang', as part of the company's aims to address the increasing demand for gypsum products, which has grown by 10 fold in the last two years.

The new 120,000 sq. ft. facility is designed to manufacture gypsum ceiling products, including studs, tracks, furring channels, main channels and wall angles. A state-of-the-art production line powered by imported precision cut technology will dominate the facility, which will be constructed in two phases with AED 25 million being allocated for each phase. Danube has also revealed that a total of eight fully computerised production lines will generate 8 to 10 items per minute, thereby providing a steady supply and stock of products to address the booming demand.

"We are witnessing a substantial increase in demand for ceiling products amidst the phenomenal rise of the construction market that is sweeping the region, and it is our primary goal to supply the mounting need for high quality building materials, especially in growing markets such as Sharjah," said Rizwan Sajan, Chairman, Danube Building Materials. "This new facility, which is currently under construction, will be operated using the latest manufacturing innovations and is considered as a major step in our expansion plans in the UAE. We are looking forward to the launch of this exciting new phase in our domestic operations, as well as the unveiling of 'Bruserstang' as our latest offering."

As its foremost feature, the 'Bruserstang' will have deep grooves on the surface, which will give more stability and rigidity to the channels than those of other products currently in the market. Additionally, Danube will be using 0.80 gram of zinc coating on raw materials, compared to the 0.60 gram used by other manufacturers, thereby making the product longer lasting and less prone to rusting. The product will be tested following every process it undergoes to ensure its confirmation with the UAE standard specifications, making it a suitable choice for developers and contractors working on commercial and residential projects.

"With current market estimates pointing to the UAE to be the primary consumer of ceiling products, we are expecting a considerable return on investment for our latest facility. We are also expecting the popularity of the 'Bruserstang' brand to witness rapid growth especially because of the high level of research we have devoted towards the development of this product. Our game plan to achieve our sales and awareness goals for the new product is to utilise our extensive network of contracting companies, with whom we have developed a strong relationship by proving time and again the dependability of our products' quality."

Prior to its ceiling facility in Sharjah, Danube has forayed into steel production with an investment of AED 200 million. In addition, plans to invest AED 50 million into the manufacturing of aluminum and glass products are also in place and are expected to curb the rising costs of these materials in the region. At present, the manufacturer is focusing on strengthening its presence in UAE by investing AED 80 million into new facilities in Ras Al Khaimah and Ajman, with aims of address the booming demand for high quality construction materials while buffering customers from rising costs.
