National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) cemented its leading position among Kuwaiti banks as to the number of followers on social media, with total followers across all social media platforms reaching 2 million by the end of year 2022.
The number of NBK’s social media followers continues to increase, up by 8% this year compared to last year, representing more than a third of the total followers of all Kuwaiti banks on different social media platforms. This demonstrates the bank’s leadership among Kuwaiti banks in this front, as it comes first, with a wide gap, having almost double the number of followers compared to the runner-up.
Commenting on this, Abdul-Mohsen Al-Rushaid, Assistant General Manager, Head of Digital Communications at National Bank of Kuwait said: “Reaching the 2 million followers milestone reflects our success in meeting all the needs of our customers and providing innovative, highly advanced services that make us always closer to them. This also demonstrates our constant determination to enhance communication with our customers whenever and wherever they are.”
Al-Rushaid explained that NBK’s dominant social media position is mainly attributed to the engaging content provided by its accounts, ranging from awareness, educational and media campaigns, to entertainment content and challenge competitions that offer the most valuable and rewarding prizes.
“NBK’s social media accounts are key communication channels with customers, and they have the highest participation rate in competitions among all peers. They also stand out as the fastest in responding to customers, which makes them the official channel for responding to customers being trusted as an effective communication channel around the clock,” he added.
“We are reaping the fruits of our effective presence on social media, which began 14 years ago, as NBK is the first bank in Kuwait that had a proactive vision to adopt direct communication with customers, and shifting from thinking about their transactions to focusing on strengthening relations with them in order to identify their needs and expectations to provide innovative services tailored to fit their lifestyle,” Al-Rushaid continued.
“NBK gives paramount attention to social media, as it had a proactive vision within its digital transformation strategy, which helped reinforce its leading position. These accounts complement other digital channels, which integrate with each other to enrich customer experience,” he emphasized.
“NBK’s social media accounts are always instrumental in supporting regulatory authorities’ campaigns and relentless endeavors to educate customers. A notable example of this is the “Let's Be Aware” campaign launched by Central Bank of Kuwait with the aim of promoting financial inclusion and publishing financial awareness content,” he highlighted.
NBK is constantly updating the content of its social media pages, ranging from educational and media awareness campaigns, in addition to engaging content and challenge competitions that give followers the opportunity to enter a draw to win valuable prizes and exceptional rewards.
