Good news for Arabic speakers across the globe who want to work in the international financial services sector: the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) has just launched its first ever Arabic translation of its workbook supporting the entry level Fundamentals of Financial Services qualification.

The CISI Fundamentals of Financial Services qualification is an important first step in developing the essential, basic knowledge required for working in financial services.

It offers a broad overview of the industry and could be a stepping stone to a career in financial services.

You will learn about the types of banking and commonly used financial products, such as shares, bonds and insurance, providing an understanding of financial terminology and enabling you to perform important basic calculations.

Fundamentals of Financial Services is an Ofqual regulated qualification and is recognised as a level 2 Award on the Qualifications & Credit Framework (QCF).  Success in this qualifications carries eight credits and visit cisi.org/ofqual to understand more about this.

On the European Qualifications Framework this equates to a level 3 qualification and further information about this can be found oncisi.org/eqf.

Key features of the qualification include:

  • Free CISI Student membership - become associated with a Chartered professional body and take advantage of an extensive range of benefits

The Fundamentals of Financial Services qualification is ideal for:

  • Employees new to the industry
  • School leavers considering a career in finance
  • Staff already working within financial services who wish to further their industry knowledge but who are not directly involved in making investment decisions

There is a one hour multiple-choice examination where candidates have to select the correct answer from four possible alternatives. There are 30 questions in total and the pass mark for the exam is 70%. The exam is delivered at a CISI accredited test centre. Visitcisi.org/cbt to find your nearest venue.
