Dubai. September 12, 2006 - CA (NYSE: CA) today announced it has been named the worldwide market leader in Identity and Access Management (IAM) software by IDC for the sixth consecutive year. * According to IDC's report, Worldwide Hardware Authentication and Identity and Access Management 2005 Vendor Shares, CA continues to lead the IAM market, with a 17.2 percent share and revenues exceeding $522 million.
IDC said the worldwide IAM market increased to $3 billion in 2005 as organizations continued to look for more cost-effective ways to manage their security infrastructures in the wake of increasing regulatory mandates and tighter budget constraints. While compliance was the largest market driver for IAM, other factors driving its adoption included the need for enterprise single sign-on (SSO), more sophisticated password management technology, and workflow integration with provisioning systems.
According to IDC, CA continues to lead the IAM software market, a position it has held for several years and further solidified with the 2004 acquisition of Netegrity and its SiteMinder Web SSO products. CA offers a fully integrated IAM Suite in addition to standalone solutions such as CA Identity Manager, eTrust SiteMinder, eTrust Access Control, and eTrust Single Sign-On.
"CA products address a wide range of platforms, ranging from the mainframe to the desktop in Windows, UNIX and Linux environments," the IDC report stated. "The company is committed to open standards and is continually tuning and enhancing to deliver software that is SOA-ready. The company will be leveraging its considerable expertise in the areas of IAM, security and systems management to ensure its customers a path of continual compliance as they move forward in ever-evolving business-driven IT deployments."
"Identity and Access Management systems are no longer 'just a good thing to have', they have become imperative for emerging Middle Eastern enterprises especially these days where companies are getting more subject to financial risks. Effectively deployed IAM system, based on processes and tools, leads to increased security, administrator efficiency, user productivity and easier auditing" Said Maria Medvedeva, CA's Regional Director of Security Management Business Unit for the EMEA Eastern Markets. "IDC's report confirms that CA offers a compelling solution for customers seeking to optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of the IT based processes along with the supply chain and the customers in the region."
