Dubai, UAE: Today, Britain’s most forward-thinking school, Brighton College, held a founding celebration to mark the official opening of the school in Dubai.

An important day in Brighton College’s history, the school’s first campus in Dubai was officially opened with a plaque unveiling ceremony in the presence of Dr Abdulla Al Karam, Director General of the KHDA, the British Consul General to Dubai, Andrew Jackson, its Board of Governors and the school’s pupils, teachers and founding families.

Since opening its doors in September this year, pupils from FS1 to Year 9 have been experiencing Brighton College’s innovative curriculum at the Al Barsha campus, where the school plans to emulate the phenomenal success of its sister schools in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Bangkok, each of which have been found to be of the highest standards in external inspections.

Marco Longmore, Head Master of Brighton College Dubai commented: “It has been an incredible journey for us to open one of the most renowned and academically successful co-educational schools from Britain in Dubai and we are only just at the beginning. Recognising the insight of His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan that ‘The educated are the best asset of any advanced nation’, with our inspirational British and international teachers here at Brighton College Dubai, we are giving the aspirational youth of the Emirate the opportunity to study an internationally understood quality education. This education will help mould the varied characters and talents of our pupils and allow them to access some of the leading universities in the UK and around the world.”

Richard Cairns, Head Master of Brighton College UK, said: “We are delighted to be opening Brighton’s fourth sister school in Dubai, one of the world’s greatest cities. Brighton’s reputation for academic excellence and innovation, together with our focus upon the importance of the individual, where every achievement, however small, is noticed, will appeal to families in Dubai who want to provide their sons and daughters with a world-class education.”
