...And announces launch of "Young Professionals" special interest group
Manama, Bahrain: The Bahrain British Business Forum's (BBBF) held a luncheon on Tuesday (May 22) at the Regency Intercontinental featuring Mr. Talat Abdulla, head of Work Integrated Learning programme at the Bahrain Polytechnic.
In his presentation, Mr. Abdulla shed light on how the university's Work Integrated Learning enriches students' academic learning and prepares them for the real world business environment by having students work in an organisation for 6 months as part of their study requirements. The university oversees the students during that time to ensure their progress and completion of tasks they are given to them by their employer.
Mr. Abdulla noted that the programme has been very well received so far, with dozens of orgnisations now using it as a source to find qualified young Bahrainis, thus contributing to increasing Bahraini employment in the private sector. Mr. Abdulla concluded by urging interested organisations to contact the university to get involved in the programme.
Furthermore, the luncheon, which was sponsored by Standard Chartered, also saw the launch of the BBBF's newest special interest group, the "Young Professionals", which aims to create networking opportunities amongst young professionals and entrepreneurs in Bahrain to share expertise and build business relationships.
