Barclays continues to invest in its global Financial Institutions team with the launch of a dedicated global Client Solutions team.

The global Client Solutions team will be responsible for identifying and delivering solutions for financial institutions and their customers, bringing together multiple product sets and coordinating across business divisions at Barclays to optimise value and experience for FI clients.

The team will take a holistic view to client planning, offering an end-to-end solution rather than focusing on an individual products basis.  This can range from simply helping to rationalise Euro clearing arrangements with the advent of SEPA; to assisting in optimising intraday liquidity consumption, collateral and reporting, in response to Basel III.  The team will also identify strategic synergies between business models, such as devising regional cash and trade solutions to help clients follow their customers to parts of the world, such as Africa, where they don't have a presence, or local market expertise.

The Solutions team will also support financial institutions in addressing the growing need to anticipate, react and capitalise on continued regulatory change, against a backdrop of increased competition and costs.

Matt Tuck, Global Head of Financial Institutions at Barclays, commented: "The launch of the new Client Solutions team is part of our continuing commitment to build deep and long-term relationships with our FI clients."

The Client Solutions team is headed by Louise Taylor, who has spent over 10 years at Barclays, 7 of those within the Financial Institutions team.  Also joining the team, providing on-the-ground support in Europe, Asia, the Americas, and the Middle East and Africa;

  • Cosima Gesierich - Client Solutions Europe. Cosima joins Barclays from Wells Fargo and will be based in Frankfurt.
  • Don Ong - Client Solutions Asia.  Don joins Barclays in Singapore from OCBC.
  • Nathan John - Client Solutions Middle East and Africa. Based in Dubai, Nathan joins from Barclays' Cash Management team.
  • Trina Pham - Client Solutions Americas.  Trina has spent 4 years within the global Financial Institutions team at Barclays and will be based in New York.

Louise Taylor, Head of Client Solutions, Global Financial Institutions at Barclays said:  "Successfully navigating the regulatory and economic landscape requires a focus on relationships and we are keen advocates of a partnership-based approach to banking.

"We recognise the importance of continued investment in our team, and by leveraging knowledge and expertise across Barclays we are focused on delivering value add solutions for our financial institution clients."
