Arabic preschool channel for children aged 3 to 6
Doha, State of Qatar - Thursday, January 15, 2009- Under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser Al-Missned, Consort of the Amir and Chairperson of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, Baraem the first Pan-Arabic preschool channel officially goes on air January 16, 2009 from its headquarters located in the Education City, Qatar.
Commencing with a high portfolio of specialized preschool programs, Baraem addresses children aged 3 to 6 and their parents with fun, trusted and rewarding television content.
Embedded with social integrities to strengthen the child's cognitive and development skills, Baraem airs up to 15% of its own produced content and up to 85 % of acquired programs carefully selected from international production houses matching the Channel's editorial policy and broadcast guidelines.
Owned by Qatar Foundation for Education Science and Community Development, Baraem commences its streaming journey on January 16, 2009 at 6:00am Doha time; with a strong ambition to appeal to pre-school children keeping them accompanied with their mothers and kindergartens' teachers through innovative and child enlightening content.
Having initially launched Al Jazeera Children's Channel in 2005, Executive General Manager, Mr. Mahmoud Bouneb stated, "Baraem comes as a historical development and unprecedented contribution to the television history of the Arab World and stems from the full vision of Her Highness Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser Al-Missned, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation for Education Science and Community Development and marks Her clear commitment to achieve a conscientious media environment for the Arab youth and child, protecting our young viewers from improper content undermining the established moral, family and social ethics of the Arab child."
Parallel to its joyful, simple and engaging television content, Baraem goes on air with a specifically designed interactive hi-tech preschool website (baraem.tv) providing mothers and nurseries with novelty ideas, cognitive children's games, educational tools and activities; sufficient to prepare preschoolers ready for school with age appropriate knowledge of Arabic writing and language.
In view of this new achievement and about Al Jazeera Children's Channel (JCC), Mr. Bouneb commented:

With a key role to broadcast specialized preschool programs, Baraem is a free to view channel, using Arabic as the only language of broadcast reaching the Arab countries and Europe throughout Arabsat, Nilesat and Hotbird;17 hours a day.

Baraem is the first pre-school Arabic television for children between the age of 3 and 6 years old offering a range of programs specifically tailored for them.

Al Jazeera Children's Channel (JCC) is a Pan-Arab edutainment channel addressing an audience between 7 and 15 years old. With the mission to encourage the love of learning and discovery, JCC is dedicated to create & provide quality programs that enlighten the child's mind.
