AUTOCAR Middle East Awards brought to you by MotorCity, the region's premier annual automotive awards, reveals winners.
A gala evening held at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Maktoum Hasher Maktoum Al Maktoum, witnessed the much aniticipated announcements of the 2007 AUTOCAR Middle East Awards winners.
Damien Reid, Senior Editor AUTOCAR Middle East commented, "The Audi R8 has proved to be the outstanding car of 2007 and is a worthy winner of our Car of the Year award."
"Once again we had a tremendous response and support from the region's automotive dealers and manufacturers supplying us with the cars to test. Our team of seven judges put our shortlisted cars through three days of thorough testing on road and track to enable us to judge as accurately as we can the winning cars for each of our twelve categories."
Speaking at the event, Bernd Rosenbichler, Head of Marketing at Audi Middle East said, "What makes the R8 so special is that it is a beautiful, thoroughbred sports car that can be enjoyed 365 days of the year."
Being a German car manufacturer, the truth for us generally lies in numbers - sales numbers and customer satisfaction indices. But to receive such support from the public and the media is just tremendous! Thank you everyone for your support."

Best Small Car: Hyundai Elantra
Best Premium Mid Size Car: Saab 9-3
Best Large Car: Toyota Aurion
Best Compact SUV: Honda CRV
Best Family SUV: Land Rover LR2
Best Luxury SUV: Porsche Cayenne Turbo
Best Luxury Car: Lexus IS 300
Best Premium Luxury Car: Audi S6
Best Sports Car: Mini Cooper S
Best Premium Sports Car:Porsche 911 Targa 4S
Best Exotic Car: Audi R8
In addition five awards were presented which had been voted for by members of the general public. The winners for the 2007 AUTOCAR Middle East People's choice Awards are

Best Dealership: AGMC BMW Dubai
Best Ownership: AGMC BMW Dubai
Best Motor Insurance Policy: AXA Insurance
