Dubai, November 2, 2010: In line with its commitment to sustainability, Aramex, the global logistics and transportation solutions provider, today announced that it has signed a partnership agreement with Volunteer in Dubai (VID), an umbrella organization that seeks to match donors with appropriate charities, ensuring that resources - including volunteer's time and efforts - are allocated efficiently and with minimal third-party costs.

Under the terms of its agreement with VID (www.volunteerindubai.com), Aramex will provide logistical and networking support to help develop VID's services in the United Arab Emirates and to contribute to the longer-term expansion of this initiative across the Gulf region.

"Our hands-on support of VID is a continuation of our long-term commitment to the communities that we serve, a reflection of our corporate culture and the way we choose to conduct ourselves," said Hussein Hachem, Aramex Chief Executive Officer for the Middle East and Africa. "As made clear in our most recent Sustainability Report, linking individuals with volunteer opportunities and empowering communities to create their own opportunities is an approach that is embedded in our sustainability model."

"We are grateful to Aramex for providing their support to Volunteer in Dubai, which will help us develop further our charitable activities across the UAE," said Lola Lopez, founder, Volunteer in Dubai. "With the support of Aramex, we were able to formally establish Volunteer in Abu Dhabi and Volunteer in Sharjah is soon to follow. Together, we will continue to reach out to local communities and try making a difference in the lives of the less fortunate."
