Gives Sharjah's growing MICE industry a strong push
Sharjah - Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre (JRCC), announced that it attracted more than 120,000 visitors and guests in 2016, bringing the total number of visitors who participated in some of the most prestigious and high-level events, organised and hosted by the Centre to 388,420 visitors, since they opened their doors in early 2013.
Dotted with an array of the exclusive in-house events services and world-class catering, JRCC was home to more than 300 events in 2016, bringing the total tally to more than 1,000 events since its inception – 25% of which were characterised by government conferences, business forums and exhibitions. The remaining 75% were taken up by unique and memorable social events.
Hanan Al Mahmoud, Director of JRCC, said: “Since its inception, JRCC has worked in line with the vision of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, to offer an outstanding destination that contributes to attracting major local and international events, as well as to strengthening Sharjah's phenomenal growth in the MICE industry. JRCC will soon be four-years-old, and looking back, we feel a sense of immense satisfaction and pride in having delivered the outstanding quality of catering and hospitality services to each and every event we have hosted.”
JRCC also maintained a progressive satisfactory growth during the year, achieving 98% customer satisfaction in recognition to the premium quality of its services. The emirate’s most premium reception and convention centre gathered a total of some of the most prestigious international events and forums with the participation of international dignitaries, politicians, diplomats, and Nobel laureates from around the world.
Since its opening in 2013, JRCC has established itself as a premier high-end venue in Sharjah, which is the first choice for major official and social events in Sharjah and the Northern Emirates.
Al Mahmoud pointed out: “JRCC has a clear strategy, which prioritises quality above all else. As a result, our core focus is on continually applying the highest internationally recognised standards of quality and professionalism in the events we organisze and host, and also upgrade them when required.”
She added: “Our catering and hospitality services are provided under the leadership and supervision of a team of professionals, whose experience and expertise allow them to intuitively gauge and fulfil the requirements of an event of any nature. Their prompt communication with clients, effective planning and strategising, troubleshooting abilities and technical support have consistently improved our delivery results, increasing the percentage of glowing testimonials from a deeply satisfied clientele.”
JRCC forecasts a 10% growth in events organised in 2017, thanks to its high-quality services and a dedicated team of professionals contributing directly to the emirate’s events industry.
“JRCC’s achievements in 2016 have been most impressive. Our successes not only came with the 300 odd events and conferences we hosted this year, but also with the 45 awards and recognitions our culinary team won at local and international culinary events,” concluded Al Mahmoud.
JRCC has maintained a positive and steadily advancing growth trajectory since 2013. Over the years, it has built itself a strong reputation for meeting every last requirement put forth by the client, whether government bodies, federal institutions or major private companies. In May 2016, JRCC organised the first-ever Sharjah Bridal Fair, which featured more than 100 exhibitors from across the GCC countries, presenting premium bridal services. The first edition of the Sharjah Bridal Fair was a great success, which concluded after having attracted a footfall of over 4,700 visitors.
JRCC, for the third consecutive year, hosted the Kahraman Majlis during the Holy Month of Ramadan. The Kahraman Majlis has achieved outstanding success by providing hospitality services to more than 2,700 guests. It is recognised for its warm Ramadan atmosphere, which brings together colleagues, friends and families observing the pious month. Preparations for the fourth Kahraman Majlis are now underway at the Centre.
The second Sharjah FDI Forum that took place on 28 and 29 September 2016 was held at JRCC, an event that brought together more than 300 elite decision makers, business leaders and economic experts from around the world. The forum succeeded in highlighting investment prospects and opportunities in the UAE, and in Sharjah in particular.
The Sharjah International Children’s Film Festival (SICFF), was hosted by JRCC from 23 to 29 October 2016. The event aims to promote media literacy among young people, in addition to helping discover, nurture and encourage creative talent in the local film industry.
JRCC also hosted the second edition of ‘Investing in the Future’ (IIFMENA), an international conference, which provided a platform to government representatives, international organisations, gender equality practitioners, leaders, journalists, academics and young experts around the globe to review and discuss how to further advance the role of girls and women in the Arab region.
It was organised by The Big Heart Foundation (TBHF) – a Sharjah-based international humanitarian body dedicated to helping the vulnerable and the needy worldwide, in collaboration with the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women). The event took place on 19th and 20th October.
Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre is the largest all-purpose hall in Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, furnished with exclusive services and state-of-the-art facilities to cater to meetings, conferences, incentives, exhibitions, weddings, galas, and more.
