Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Airports announced today the transformation plans for Al Ghazal Golf Club and Sports resort that will present a revamped new recreational offer to the residents and visitors of Abu Dhabi. The renovation and development plans will turn the emirate’s only sand golf course to a nationwide recreational sporting hub. The transformed golf destination expects to debut its enhanced look towards the mid of 2018.

The property is currently undergoing cutting-edge refurbishments on five of its star facilities; 18-Hole golf course and training center, sports recreational center, administration building, and its Food & Beverage Outlets. The finished facility will boast a prestigious sand golf course, an assortment of recreational activities for adventure seekers, locker room expansions, new gaming facilities, and improved continental dinning venues.

Al Ghazal Golf Club and Sports enjoys a strategic location lying in close proximity to the Abu Dhabi International Airport and some of the most sought-after attractions of the Emirate that includes the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Ferrari World, Yas Island and is a mere 15 minute- drive from the city.

Commenting on this development, Saoud Al Shamsi, Acting Chief Commercial Officer at Abu Dhabi Airports, said: “Al Ghazal Golf Club and Sports will be the most luxurious and exciting resort for sport lovers and families seeking an adventurous escape, or to unwind after a long day of work. This renovation project has been designed to create a wider golf club membership that ultimately establishes a big and prominent Al Ghazal Community. In line with its vision and values, Al Ghazal Golf Club & Sports Resort will be a leader of innovation, hospitality and quality by the end of 2018”.

Establishing it as the ultimate haven for adventure-seekers and athletes in Abu Dhabi, the resort will feature a state-of-the-art paintball park, wall climbing facility, a technologically advanced simulation golf room, a skate board park, tennis courts, a shooting range, football pitch area, a fully outfitted gymnasium and a spa. It also offers the amenities for MTV biking as well as a cycling and jogging track, and sand boarding. Most of the mentioned activities will be readily available by the year-end of 2018, while the others will be worked on progressively.

Guests of the resort will enjoy different cuisines across its variety of dining venues. Only few weeks ago Ola Brasil Restaurant opened its doors at the resort to bring a distinct South American experience to the table. The new venue offers dinners “all you can eat grilled meat buffet” with the finest Brazilian produces. In addition, the revamped traditional Irish club is now boosting 6 screens broadcasting the sports games, including the coming up 2018 World Cup.  The dinning mix at Al Ghazal also includes a Korean culinary as well as a selection of international flavours.

Come winter, Al Ghazal Golf Club & Sports Resort expects to present an all-inclusive property that provides a holistic, multi concept experience, uniting the best of entertainment, leisure, hospitality, and sports on one consistent platform.
