Students also visited key facilities in Germany, experiencing first-hand Airbus’ Training Centre and A320 Plant.

The UAE aerospace sector was the focus for the final year of the initiative. Students participated in a series of captivating hands-on workshops, received engaging lectures from aerospace experts and site visits to several renowned UAE aviation and aerospace supporting partners such as the UAE Space Agency, the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre, Strata Manufacturing, Etihad Engineering and Innovation Hub Powered by Google.

Mikail Houari, President, Airbus Africa and Middle East commented: “Future Scientists supports the development of a pipeline of future talent, providing students in the UAE with international best practice and a springboard to careers in the aviation and aerospace industries.

“As part of our commitment to promoting the localisation of skills and knowledge, the programme has helped nurture bright young minds who will become future leaders of our industry. We are proud to witness the graduation of the young scientists who will go on to generate innovative ideas that contribute to the sustainable economic development and diversification of the UAE.”

Future Scientists helps create a deeper pool of local talent that will contribute to the future of the UAE and wider region and we are proud to be associated with the programme.

“We are proud of what these students have achieved over the past three years. Growing and developing talented Emirati students through industry cooperation with organisations like Airbus is essential to supporting the UAE’s long-term vision and the nation’s innovation strategy.

“These students are our future and alongside Airbus, we have both embraced the importance of providing opportunities to learn and develop young Emiratis while giving them a sense of purpose and passion that will enhance the UAE’s aerospace industry.”

Hamda Al Hajeri one of the Future Scientists students shared her thoughts on the initiative commenting: “Being a Future Scientists student has been one my proudest moments filled with engaging experiences that will certainly influence my future career choice. I could not thank Airbus and Al Bayt Mitwahid enough for providing me with access to world-class facilities in France and Germany and experience with top UAE companies like Strata and Etihad at home. I now have a much greater understanding of the complexities involved in the aviation and aerospace industry and look forward to eventually putting my skills to good use.

The graduating class of students will each receive certificates marking their achievement at the graduation ceremony. Students will benefit from continued support and guidance from Future Scientists partners in their career choices and educational journey and potential future careers.
