Dubai, 8. June, 2008 - The lucky winner of the Al Ansari Exchange-Western Union promotion was given the keys to the grand prize, a gleaming new Mercedes Benz C180, at a ceremony yesterday. The event took place at the Al Ansari Exchange branch in Dubai Festival City, in the presence of special guests and dignitaries from Western Union and Al Ansari Exchange.
Mr. Bakr Mejahed Sayed Ahmed, an Egyptian national, was announced as the winner of the grand prize. Mr. Bakr entered into the grand draw via a transaction worth AED 400 which he made from the Shahama Branch of Al Ansari Exchange. Mr. Mohamad Al Ansari, the Managing Director of Al Ansari Exchange, and Jean-Claude Farah, Regional Vice President for Middle East, Pakistan and Afghanistan, Western Union, personally handed the keys of the car to him.
All consumers who sent money through Western Union from any Al Ansari Exchange location in the UAE between the 1st and 31st of May automatically had their invoice numbers entered into the grand draw. Mr. Fuad Al Ansari, General Manager of Al Ansari Exchange picked the winning invoice number in an electronic draw conducted on the 1st of June. In addition to the grand prize, thirty other customers were awarded an amount corresponding to the value of their invoice for one transaction sent via Western Union® Money Transfer service in the month of May.
