Al-Ahliyya Amman University and Universal Knowledge Solutions announced last Tuesday their coming joint venture during a ceremony held at Dubai Knowledge Village where AAU President, Dr. Maher Salim and UKS CEO, Dr. Milad Sebaaly signed a partnership agreement to establish an eLearning Center of Excellence at AAU. The project aims at creating a hub for educational technologies and innovations in the region while providing enhanced learning and teaching opportunities for students and faculty at AAU.

Al-Ahliyya Amman University is the first private university in Jordan, dating back to 1990. It has since then set a pioneering pace in the field of private higher education in the region. Since its establishment, AAU has strived to provide superior quality education and the move towards eLearning is understandable considering the latest trends and developments globally.

Universal Knowledge Solutions' successful track-record in eLearning solutions for higher education has been unprecedented in the Arab world. Notable breakthrough projects include the now renowned Syrian Virtual University, the very first full-fledge virtual university in the region, as well as the newly established eLearning Center of Excellence at the Gulf University for Science and Technology in Kuwait which were both designed, established and managed by UKS experts.

The emerging outcome of this mutual partnership is to open up better opportunities, provide excellence in learning and teaching and allowing students and faculty to experience eLearning as part of their day-to-day practices. "The aim of the eLearning Center of excellence is to create an active online learning environment to enhance classroom-based learning on one hand and open new avenues for flexible continuing education on the other. Our belief at UKS is that online learning, when properly designed, can be both an efficient and highly effective method for enhancing existing teaching processes, as well as teaching large numbers of remote learners over great distances." explains UKS CEO, Dr. Milad Sebaaly.

Dr. Maher Salim stated that, "Al Ahliyya Amman University will be the first university In Jordan to implement the model of an eLearning Center of Excellence. We believe that this mutual agreement is a symbol of a fruitful and beneficial partnership for both parties involved. Our success is your success and vice versa. We look forward to starting this new venture and so starting the implementation phase with the aid of UKS's expertise."

UKS will deploy a team of on-site experts that will work closely with the university to ensure that the visions and goals of the eLearning Center of excellence are achieved. In addition, an off-site team will assist the center in the fields of content development, academic audit and project management, and technical support. A fully integrated solution based on a comprehensive state-of-the-art online learning platform is to be deployed for this project that will benefit from UKS' deep hands-on expertise in online learning implementation in the region in order to ensure a successful learning environment.
