Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. For the second year running, AGMC, the exclusive importer of BMW, BMW Alpina, MINI and Rolls-Royce in Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, under the patronage of the UAE Ministry of Education, held two painting competitions under the umbrella of Coral International Hotels' 'Save Animals' children's painting competition in support of the fight against global warming.
The competitions, held at the AGMC-BMW Sharjah showroom and the Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services on September 19 and September 26 of this year, with the participation of almost 100 children from around Sharjah, the Northern Emirates and Dubai, voicing their concern for the environment and the preservation of wildlife.
"This is the second year that AGMC has sponsored the Coral International Children's Painting Competition, a demonstration of our commitment to developing our children's awareness for preserving the environment and saving wildlife," said Mamdouh Khairallah, Regional Manager for Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, AGMC.
"As a result of global warming, now more than ever, animals are in danger of perishing or even becoming extinct, taking away valuable and life defining experiences from our children. This competition aims to shed light on the danger being posed on our environment."
In line with this concern is BMW Group's Clean Energy initiative, which will allow the Group to establish itself in a hydrogen economy based on regenerative energy sources, such as hydro-electric power, wind power and solar energy.
"With the finite supply of petroleum diminishing every day, it is the automotive industry's duty to contribute to the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions. The 'Save Animals' campaign is of vital importance in our community, allowing all the sponsors and participants to voice their concerns for the environment, the elimination of global warming and the preservation of wildlife," continued Khairallah.
"BMW Group is committed to clean energy through the continuous development of hydrogen technology. As the sole importer for BMW Group products in Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, AGMC is fully dedicated to BMW Group's Energy Strategy."
