ABU DHABI: Abu Dhabi-based financial services firm ADSS has appointed Khaldoun Sharaiha as Global Head of Sales to help lead the company’s continued expansion in Europe, Asia and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

In his role, Khaldoun is responsible for client engagement at ADSS, focusing particularly on institutional clients and high-net-worth professional investors. ADSS recently launched a five-year transformation strategy to drive expansion across its key markets, with significant investment earmarked to develop technology and expertise.

“ADSS will be investing to attract and retain the best talent in the industry in the coming years, as we set the benchmark for online brokerages in terms of client experience, breadth of offering, and effective use of technology,” said Mahmood Ebraheem Al Mahmood, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of ADSS.

“Khaldoun is joining ADSS at a promising time for our business, as ADSS builds on its leading position in the MENA region and expands its professional client base in Europe and fast-growing Asian markets. His deep knowledge of our industry and the markets we work in, as well as his track record leading teams through periods of growth and development, makes him the ideal person to support our ambitions.”

Jason Hughes, who previously held the role of Global Head of Sales, will continue to support ADSS in the business development aspects of its transformation strategy.

With over a decade’s experience in the international trading and investment industry, Khaldoun assumes the Global Head of Sales role at ADSS following three years at Equiti, a UK-based and regulated multi-asset brokerage company. For the past two years, Khaldoun was CEO of Equiti’s operation in Jordan. He previously worked as a Director at ADSS, from 2013 to 2017, and as Head of the MENA region for Swiss group Dukascopy Bank.

“ADSS is one of the largest brokerages in the Middle East, with a solid technology-led business and a fast-expanding global network,” said Khaldoun. “We have a great opportunity to expand our client base in new markets and to make a mark as a business that is trusted by clients and partners. I look forward to contributing to ADSS’s development by exploring new market opportunities and enhancing our high-touch customer service levels.”
