Aalam MBC3 brings a fresh concept of virtual fun to Reef Mall this DSS
Starting on July 1 and running right up to the end of Dubai Summer Surprises is a unique event that's premiering in Dubai at the Reef Mall - Alam MBC3 or MBC3 World. Located on the first floor, next to Home Centre in the mall, this exciting world of fun includes four different areas of amusement - MBC3 Virtual Theatre, MBC3 Illusions, MBC3 Fun Area and MBC3 Projections and will operate from 4pm to 10pm daily.
"This is the first time that such an interactive activity is being hosted in Dubai. We are delighted to have it functional as a special surprise for the visitors of DSS. It's a very interesting concept because it tickles the mind and encourages the child to think about what he is seeing and why things are the way they are," said Laila Suhail, DSS Executive Project Director.
Said Laila Suhail, DSS Executive Project Director, "Alam MBC3 (MBC3 World) is sure to attract children of all age groups and nationalities because it's a very innovative and unique concept of play and learning rolled in one. The four different corners give scope for a varied experience for one and all. At the Virtual Theatre stage, live performances and 3D animation shows will be held. So true to life will the shows be that visitors will be in awe as to whether the shows and performers are real or not! Apart from these virtual reality shows, the Organizing Committee will be hosting a number of shows and competitions on this stage all through DSS."
Added Laila, "Playing illusionary tricks on the visitors' eyes are the many displays and pictures at the MBC3 Illusions Corner where the displays seem like one thing but on closer viewing or from a different angle look like something different. The corner will also include optical illusions where the visitors will be able to see themselves and laugh as their funny images in the mirrors placed there," he said. "Both kids and adults will have a nice time at the MBC3 Fun Area and Projections corner. Visitors in the Fun Area will enjoy watching MBC3 and their favourite TV programmes and cartoons on a big screen. Moreover, a special corner will be put up for kids under the age of five where they will be able to enhance their drawing and painting skills. In the Projections corner children can pretend play - splashing water on each other, kicking balls and playing drums, all through the virtual floor which will bring forth all these interactive games as if it were happening in reality," he said.
However the fun at Reef Mall doesn't end here, there will be special Stilt walkers' parades on July 5, August 2 and August 30. Also not to be missed are the Drum Shows on July 19 and August 16. All shows will run from 7.30pm to 8.30 pm at the mall.
The ten-week DSS 2005 began with the Flower Surprises on June 22 and continues with the Sweets Surprises, Arts Surprises, Colour Surprises, Ice Surprises, Adventure Surprises, Cartoon Surprises, Heritage Surprises, Knowledge Surprises and concludes with the Back-2-School Surprises on September 2.
