Dubai: ACCA and the UAE’s AAA have signed a partnership agreement to further develop and support the accounting profession in the UAE.

This partnership is designed to further develop and support the accounting profession in the UAE between Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the UAE Accountants & Auditors Association (AAA)

As per the agreement, AAA is confident that all ACCA members have met their stringent membership requirements and will be eligible to apply and consequently use the UAE Chartered Accountant designation.

The agreement also includes the sharing of information between the two bodies with a priority of technical knowledge, and professional development a priority. Both parties will work together to ensure training of internationally qualified accountants, providing services and support for members in addition to committing to a series of education events to ensure continued professional development.

The memorandum of understanding was signed at AAA offices in Abu Dhabi by Mrs Amna Al Mahri, AAA General Manager and Fazeela Gopalani, Head of ACCA Middle East. ACCA is committed to drive gender equity across the region within the profession and is delighted to work with the first female leader – Amna Al Mahri, within a Middle East national body.

Mrs Al Mahri, said that AAA are delighted at this significant partnership and are confident that both organizations will continue to develop and shape the accounting and finance profession in the Middle East. The partnership will see a strong focus on the training and development agenda for UAE Nationals within the public and private sector within the UAE”

Fazeela Gopalani, stated: “We are delighted to have signed this agreement which cements our commitment to the profession and will see the beginning of a collaborative and successful association. “We look forward to working closely on various projects and initiatives that will support the development of the accounting and finance profession in the financial sector in United Arab Emirates for many coming years.”
