ADAC announces new figures spurred on by increased traffic, additional spend per passenger, and innovative promotions.
22nd December 2010 - Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC), operator of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi's five airports, announced a 44.5% increase in Duty Free revenues and a 16% increase in passengers at Abu Dhabi International Airport during the F1™ season in November, compared to the period of last year's race.
The announcement was made during a prize draw event following a successful F1™ promotional campaign at the capital's airport Duty Free. The prize draw, attended by senior ADAC officials, was held yesterday at Yas Marina Circuit.
Following the successful rollout of its retail and food & beverage brand, Shop-Dine-Unwind, earlier this year and the F1™ promotional campaign, the month of November has been a great success for Abu Dhabi Duty Free, with all passengers flying to and from Abu Dhabi International Airport having the opportunity to participate in this activation.
During the event, Huraiz Al Mur bin Huraiz, ADAC's Chief Commercial Officer commented:
"The Shop-Dine-Unwind brand for the Abu Dhabi Duty Free has demonstrated to be an important asset to ADAC's portfolio of brands. We are proud of the success we saw with this year's F1™ season, which goes on to show that we have continued to improve on our customer experience at Abu Dhabi International Airport. I would like to also congratulate the winners and hope that they continue to use Abu Dhabi International Airport as their gateway to the world."
The promotional campaign was organized by ADAC offering targeted prizes to the various passenger demographic visiting respective outlets within Abu Dhabi International Airport.
The prizes on offer were a Fiat 500 car, a specially commissioned 400 grams and 24 carat gold F1™ model car, a pair of Rolex watches, $15,000 worth of Abu Dhabi Duty Free shopping vouchers and a VIP Luxury travel package to attend the Monaco Grand Prix 2011 including business class flights, helicopter transfers and a stay at the Monaco Fairmont Hotel.
