3.5-litre V6, 278 horsepower petrol engine providing a premium passenger experience and a higher level of hospitality

Dubai: Redefining what premium stands for in the luxury people mover market, Al-Futtaim Toyota has unveiled the new 2020 Granvia in the UAE.

With the launch of the Granvia, Al-Futtaim Toyota is committed to taking charge of the growing demand for high-end shuttles. The vehicle’s elegant design, opulent interior, powerful 3.5-litre V6 engine and advanced safety features enable customers to travel in optimal comfort while enjoying total peace of mind. The vehicle is perfectly suited for large families who require space and are looking for comfort and luxury as well as limousine companies, hotels and corporates wanting to transport their guests in style.

Saud Abbasi, Managing Director of Al-Futtaim Toyota, said: “For all of our models, it is our goal to give people the most enjoyable journey possible. With the 2020 Toyota Granvia, we are offering an exceptional vehicle that enhances the experience for everyone on board by ensuring you always arrive relaxed and refreshed. We are truly excited to launch a premium solution for those that enjoy travelling in luxury. The new Granvia is perfect for changing customer values and we are equipped to meet the demands of luxury lifestyles.”

With seating for six, including four captain’s chairs as a standard feature – a first in class – the Granvia includes adjustable interior illumination, fine woodgrain trim and metallic finishing, as well as rear air conditioning that incorporates ion generators with nanotechnology to help remove bacteria and odours. Driver assistance technologies comprise a 4.2-inch display, a 7.0-inch infotainment unit, multifunctional steering wheel and a digital rear-view mirror ensuring a clear view regardless of how much luggage is in the back.

Setting the new Granvia apart is a striking profile and a wide-body to ensure a low centre of gravity accentuated by metallic trim running along the bottom to emphasize its firmly-planted stance. Upfront the stylish grille and LEDs create a strong presence with the bold design finished off by chrome accents.

Power is courtesy of Toyota’s high compression, direct-injection 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine generating 278 horsepower and 351nm of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. With a stiff frame coupled to MacPherson strut front suspension and a four-link rear, the Granvia delivers excellent handling and stability together with exceptional ride comfort. Even fully loaded, the 2020 Granvia removes the stress from travelling and takes it all in its stride, with ample space that can accommodate four golf bags along with six passengers.

With a focus on safety throughout its development, the new Granvia is built using high-tensile strength materials to provide a lightweight yet rigid structure. The Granvia additionally minimizes risk to pedestrians by incorporating energy-absorbing reinforcements which have been adopted on the front end. Standard features on the new model include emergency brake warning, tyre pressure monitoring, plus driver and passenger airbags, knee airbags, as well as curtain airbags.

Al-Futtaim Toyota is offering the 2020 Toyota Granvia SE model from AED177,000 with leather seats, a rearview camera, cruise control, 17-inch wheels, LEDs, parking sensors and hill-assist control.

The Toyota Granvia top of the range Premium model is priced at AED199,900 and includes additional luxury quilted Ottoman leather seats, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, lane departure assist, surround-view camera, digital rearview mirror, pre-crash system and an electrically operated side door.

About Al-Futtaim Toyota

Toyota, a Japanese automotive manufacturer founded in 1937, is the world's market leader in sales of hybrid electric vehicles. Toyota is exclusively distributed in the UAE by the Al-Futtaim Automotive Division, part of Al-Futtaim Group, for over 6 decades, and has been leading the sustainable mobility movement since 2008. In addition to the large line-up of vehicles ranging from SUV, compact, sedan, coupe, MPV and LCV options, Al-Futtaim Toyota introduced Camry Electric Hybrid Vehicle (HEV) in 2008 to taxi operator fleets, in an effort to actively contribute to a lower carbon footprint in the UAE.

In 2016, Prius, the world’s most popular HEV for over 20 years was launched in the country, in order to actively support UAE Vision 2021’s environmental targets. 2017 saw the introduction of the zero-emission hydrogen-powered Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV) Toyota Mirai, in a pilot aiming at studying the possibilities of establishing a hydrogen-based, carbon-free society. As part of the program, the Mirai is being showcased to a number of key government stakeholders and is taking part in a number of events to give the public an understanding of what the future of zero-emissions motoring could look like. 2019 witnessed the launch of the first Hybrid SUV in the UAE from Al Futtaim Toyota, the RAV4 Hybrid, and the first Corolla Hybrid Electric ever which joined the UAE’s Hybrid Nation to set new benchmarks for clean motoring.

While the Yaris Hatchback monopolizes the compact range, the Sedan series offers a wide choice of vehicles such as Yaris Sedan, Corolla, Camry and Avalon. The SUV range comprises the legendary Land Cruiser, Land Cruiser Prado, FJ Cruiser, Fortuner, Rush and RAV4. As for the MPV line-up, it features Innova, Previa and the 7-seat Avanza.  The LCV range covers the Land Cruiser Pick-up, Hilux, Hiace and Coaster. Dedicated to the purists’ sports car is the front-engine rear-wheel-drive Toyota 86.

In September 2019, after a 17-year wait, Al-Futtaim Toyota launched the new 2020 Toyota GR Supra in the UAE, much to the delight of fans and loyalists across the country.
