Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion urged all jewellers and related businesses to ensure that customers show their personal ID during any transaction for the purchase and sale of gold, precious metals and stones.

The Ministry said in a statement: “This is part of the Ministry's supervisory role for the implementation of the Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Law, and ensuring that all commercial transactions are followed up in accordance with the relevant regulations and procedures.”

 

The Ministry urges all enterprises and businesses to ensure that clients show their personal ID during any transaction for the purchase and sale of gold, jewellery, precious metals and stones.
