The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) closed Wednesday in green territory, after its general index levelled up 7.44 points, or 0.15%, to 5,001.34 points.

The ADX’s trading volume reached 142.174 million shares, up from 101.595 million shares on Tuesday, while the market’s traded value increased to AED 240.021 million, from AED 235.192 million.

The telecommunication sector and its only stock, Emirates Telecommunications Group (Etisalat), went up 0.36% each.

The banks sector inched up 0.25% as First Abu Dhabi Bank’s (FAB) stock rose 0.41%, while Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank’s (ADIB) stock gained 0.27%.

The real estate sector increased 0.08% as RAK Properties’ stock grew 1.98%.

On the flipside, the energy sector decreased by 1.30% after the stocks of Dana Gas and ADNOC Distribution fell 1.67% and 1.24%, respectively.

The ADX added about AED 423 billion ($115.144 million) to its market capitalisation, to close at AED 497.138 billion ($135.325 billion), compared to AED 496.715 billion ($135.210 billion) during the previous session.
