TUNIS - French-Dutch low-cost airline Transavia had operated 1,577 flights to Tunisia in the first eight months of 2012, up 24% compared to the same period of 2011 and 1.5% over 2010, CEO of Transavia France Lionel Guerin said Monday in Tunis.
He said the company was able to sell 232,500 seats on all its operated flights, i.e. up 19% compared to the last year and 5% compared to 2010.
During a press conference held Monday in Tunis, Lionel Guerin said the 2012/2013 winter programme comprises flights from Paris Orly to Djerba with an average of one flight per day, except for Saturday and a daily flight operated throughout the week to Monastir.
Transavia's programme will also include in the winter period two flights per week (Monday and Friday) from Lyons to Monastir.
Two flights per week (Monday and Thursday) are scheduled to Tozeur and four to the Tunis-Carthage international airport from Paris Orly Airport, the official added.
He said Transavia France operates with Kars Tunisia Company, its sales representative in Tunisia.
Tunisia has been since the creation of Transavia France in 2007 the second travel destination of the airline, added Lionel Guerin
