TEHRAN – A lineup of movies by Iranian filmmakers will be competing in two international festivals in the coming weeks.

“Silence” by Iman Davari has been selected to compete in the Marietta International Film Festival, which will take place in the Georgian city of Marietta on August 25 and 26, the organizers have announced.

The short film shows a man who has been divorced for two years. Now, four phone calls open a window to the conflict in his life.

Movies coming from Egypt, U.S., Brazil, Georgia and England will also screen at the event.

“Run Rustam Run” by Hossein Molayemi, and “Like a Good Kid” by Arian Vazirdaftari will be screened at the seventh edition of the Visioni Corte International Short Film Festival that will be running in the Italian city of Minturno from October 15 to 20.

In “Run Rustam Run”, national hero Rustam comes to contemporary Tehran in order to make up for what he has done to his own son.

“Like a Good Kid” tells the story of Sara, a 24-year-old girl who is supposed to babysit Matin, a 6-year-old boy, for the day, while his mother is at work. In the morning, Matin tells Sara a story of a fight with his mother the night before that leads to a series of events throughout the day that will change Matin and Sara for the rest of their lives.
