MANAMA: Eid Al Adha prayers in Bahrain will be performed at home at 5.31am on Friday, the Sunni Endowments Directorate said yesterday.

Mosques across Bahrain will proclaim the traditional Eid takbeers (praise to Allah) from 5am until 5.31am.

The takbeers traditionally precede the prayers and sermons, but there will be no prayers, due to precautionary measures to combat Covid-19.

Bahrain had shut down mosques as part of preventive measures to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus through congregations.
