ArabFinance: Egypt received a total of 500,000 Sinovac vaccine doses on June 7th, raising he country's total deliveries of all vaccines made by the East Asian country to some 4 million shots, the Health Ministry said in a statement.

This comes a week before finishing the first batch of locally manufactured Sinovac shots.

Vacsera is set to finish the first batch of Egypt-made Sinovac shots on June 15th.

In May, Zayed said that state-owned Vacsera will manufacture a total of two million doses of Chinas Sinovac vaccine by the end of June.

The first shipment of the vaccines raw materials arrived on May 18th.

In April, Vacsera signed two joint manufacturing agreements with Chinas Sinovac to locally produce the vaccine.

Egypts government targets producing five million doses of the vaccine within the coming two months, then raising the capacity to 40 million doses per year.

Egypt reported 782 new coronavirus cases on Monday, June 6th, raising the total count to 268,754 since the pandemic started in February 2020.
