Strong winds at a speed of 25km per hour blew across Muscat, Buraimi and the Batinah region causing a dust storm, announced the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulances (PACDA) on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Met office stated that motorists need to exercise caution on Monday as well. “Motorists need to exercise caution due to low visibility amid dust storm, accompanied by hot air,” it said.

PACDA has urged people to shut the windows of houses properly and avoid stepping out as much as possible. “Due to poor visibility motorists should reduce the speed and those outdoors need to cover their noses and mouths and wear goggles.”
