AL AIN - Al Ain Zoo takes part in the Cultural Connection Festival, organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi at the Al Ain Palace Museum on the 14th and 15th December, coinciding with the "Year of Tolerance".

The event was aimed at highlighting the values of the Year of Tolerance by demonstrating the peaceful coexistence which exists in the UAE, home to many different cultures from all over the world.

The celebrations included meet & greet popuo with various types of birds, with ample opportunities for visitors to take pictures with them and learn more about the great animal diversity in the Zoo. In addition to that, there was a Q&A activity with plenty of prizes offered from complimentary tickets, Safari trucks and giraffe feeding experience.

Commenting on the nature of the Zoo’s participation in the festival, Omar Yousef Alblooshi, Director Marketing & Corporate Communication at Al Ain Zoo, said, "Our participation in the Al Ain Palace Museum’s event comes as part of our commitment to strategic partnerships and institutional and social integration, and our commitment to supporting the concept of tolerance, not only in 2019, but also as an approach adopted by the UAE since its establishment 48 years ago. The country continually promotes tolerance and coexistence at local and global levels."

AlBlooshi added, "Through our participation, Al Ai Zoo is delighted to uniquely perpetuate open-mindedness through our tolerance for wildlife and endangered animals. We seek to elevate these concepts to include human, animal, plant and land resources, consumption of which we must rationalise for today and tomorrow."

The event saw the participation of several countries, including Russia, India, Kenya, Egypt, Lebanon, and Palestine. These countries, along with the UAE, provided examples of cultural connectivity between Arab countries, and the harmonious diversity of cultural traditions and customs in these countries. The festival also featured folkloric shows, traditional cuisine, and a series of diverse workshops for children from the participating countries.
