RIYADH: The Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture on Wednesday began the implementation of regulations to check noise pollution in the Kingdom.
The provisions of the new regulations apply to all people in residential, commercial, industrial, and environmentally sensitive areas in addition to roadsides and construction sites.
However, the new rules do not apply to military activities, airports, railways, operational activities at seaports, and national celebrations. The noise inside buildings is also exempted.
The ministry will enforce these laws with the help of the data gathered by the National Center for Environmental Compliance.
Violators will face fines and other penalties.
