Cairo – The Egyptian Minister of Finance, Mohamed Maait, called on the top taxpayers to register in the e-invoice system.

Several penalties will be applied to those in non-compliance and they will be referred to the public prosecutor, Maait said in a statement on Sunday.

Starting from 1 July 2021, top taxpayers listed in the decision who fail to join the system will be excluded from the top taxpayers position and will not be able to deal with ministries, economic authorities, public-sector companies, and all state-run authorities, the Head of the Egyptian Tax Authority, Reda Abdel Kader, warned.
