DUBAI - The consumer price index (CPI) in the United Arab Emirates fell 1.49% in June from a year earlier, government data showed on Monday.

The CPI index fell 0.03% in June from May, the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority said on its website.

The decline in CPI has partly reflected the fading impact of last year's introduction of a value-added tax in the United Arab Emirates, economists have said.
