Civil Service Bureau (CSB) president Ahmed Al Zayed has announced the completion of organisational restructuring of 51 out of 57 government departments.

The drive aims to enhance efficiency and productivity and ensure quality of service taking into consideration the general budget allocated to ministries, he said.

Restructuring helped reduce operating cost in all government ministries, he added.

He was speaking during a virtual session of Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD) programme (Tarabot 2).

SCB has been implementing the remote work policy since November 2019 before the coronavirus outbreak, he pointed out, adding that 83 job titles have been identified for work from home on a permanent basis.

Recruitment in the public sector wasn’t suspended despite the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.

On the contrary, it doubled in the health sector based on available budget, he said.

Job interviews were held remotely in compliance with medical precautionary measures, he added, according to a report in our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej.
