Doha - Qatar ranked the first safest place to live from natural disaster risks according to a study issued recently by the United Nations University Institute for Environment and Human Security after assessing the disaster risks in 171 countries.
The top four places after Qatar are Malta, Saudi Arabia, Barbados, and Grenada, while the five most dangerous places are Vanuatu, Tonga, the Philippines, Guatemala and Bangladesh. The report which published by TakePart website said that the safest places are exposure less to flood risk, drought, storms and earthquakes.
While the islands of Vanuatu and Tonga face a multitude of natural hazards, from earthquakes to volcanic eruptions, wealthier countries were able to lessen their risk ranking thanks to higher standards for building codes, larger food supplies, and increased access to information technology.
