TUNIS - Developing a long term thorough vision aiming at reducing inequalities between regions is the aim of the visit paid by a Tunisian delegation to Poland last July 25-29, led by Regional Development Minister Abderrazak Zouari. The visit, two months after the one paid by Lech Walesa to Tunisia, is part of the ongoing reflection of the Regional Development Ministry to work out a new vision for the elaboration of a white book to be presented before the elections of the Constituent Assembly.
The visit provided the occasion to Mr. Zouari and his delegation to meet the officials who drew the polish strategy of regional development to make the most of this country's experience, one of the rare countries to have a Ministry dedicated to regional development.
The five-day visit had been an occasion for the Tunisian delegation to meet in Warsaw several Polish senior officials such as the Foreign Affairs Minister, the Regional Development Minister, the Polish President advisor as well as other experts of the central administration.
The Tunisian delegation notably took part in seminars devoted to the foundations of the regional policy in Poland, the Polish territorial reform and the legal foundations of the development policy, in addition to the contribution of the European structural funds on the Polish Macro-economic indicators.
