Based on the high orders of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik, the State Council held the third annual session of the seventh period.

"Based on the high orders of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik to convene the Council of Oman, the State Council, at the beginning of the third annual session of the seventh period, chaired by His Excellency Sheikh Abdul Malik bin Abdullah Al Khalili, Chairman of the Council, discussed the study submitted by the Education and Research Committee, on the reality of scientific research in the Sultanate of Oman and the role of the public and private sectors and international companies in supporting and developing it," Oman News Agency (ONA) said in a statement.

His Excellency Sheikh Abdul Malik bin Abdullah Al Khalili said in his speech: "The convening of the first regular session of the third annual session of the seventh period coincides with the advent of the national occasion '51st National Day'.”

"What has been achieved in the Sultanate of Oman during its continuous development process for 50 years deserves praise, thanks to God Almighty, and stimulates enthusiasm for more effort and giving, so that construction can continue at the same pace. This would not have been achieved without the will of God Almighty and then with the determination, thought and leadership of the late Sultan - may God rest his soul - who moved the Sultanate of Oman to what it has become, and he accomplished what was accomplished according to scientific foundations based on five-year development plans," the Chairman of the State Council added.
