Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has directed the government to reduce the time required for releasing different goods at ports, particularly strategic commodities, according to a statement on December 21st.

This step aims at meeting the increasing demand for strategic commodities and securing them ahead of Ramadan.

Madbouly also followed up on the advance cargo information (ACI) system and the customs facilitation system of Nafeza.

Regarding the ACI system, Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait said that over 465,000 accredited certificates were issued through the system.

Maait also added that the ministry is working on completing the application of the comprehensive risk system.
