(TAP) - First Vice-Speaker of the House of People's Representatives (HPR) Samira Chaouachi Friday received China's Ambassador to Tunisia Zhang Jianguo.

The latter announced on the occasion, the creation of an Inter-parliamentary Friendship Group with Tunisia within the National People's Congress of China, in a bid to boost bilateral cooperation in this field, notably through legislative experiences and expertise sharing.

The two officials exchanged views during the meeting on the development of the Tunisian-Chinese relations in the various fields, a HPR press release reads.

They also laid emphasis on the importance of bolstering the economic cooperation and stepping up investment, through notably a legislation that contributes to the achievement of the expected goals.Samira Chaouachi pointed out the role of inter-parliamentary relations and friendship groups in fostering bilateral cooperation relations.

Zhang Jianguo for his part, paid tribute to the experience of the successful democratic transition in Tunisia, reaffirming his country's willingness to develop cooperation between the two countries.
